Role: IT Support Assistant

Reports to: Service Desk Manager

Location: Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow, site-based role

Role Summary:

The IT Support Assistant will provide technical support to internal and external customers. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving IT issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to users, resolving IT issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Take ownership of user problems or queries and ensure that they are resolved proactively and in a timely manner.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and support.
  • Development and delivery of the IT Induction for all new team members.

System Maintenance:

  • Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping, maintenance and administration tasks are completed and recorded in a timely manner.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and change logs.
  • Ensuring the helpdesk knowledge base is kept up to date with known solutions.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Follow the appropriate escalation path for unresolved or complex user issues.
  • Support the goals of IT operations by assisting in project delivery when required.
  • Assist Event Delivery Team when required, participating in support rota.

Required Experience:

  • Academic or Professional technical IT qualification (or relevant experience).
  • Previous experience working in customer facing role (desirable).
