Commonwealth Games: Assistant Event Manager

In under 300 days, Glasgow will transform into a global hub for sport and culture, welcoming 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, across 11 days of unforgettable action, fuelled by the city’s unstoppable energy and passion.

Six of the ten sports and the Opening Ceremony are being hosted at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). As such, it is expected that the SEC will be a high-profile epicentre of the Games and will likely be the broadcast backdrop to global audiences of over 1 billion.

The SEC are expanding their team, and we’re looking for a motivated Assistant Event Manager who will work as an integral part of the SEC Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games team in the planning and delivery of the Games. The team’s key function is to coordinate the delivery commitments for the Games, whilst maximising the benefits and legacy of the event being hosted on campus.

As the Commonwealth Assistant Event Manager, you will be responsible for working as part of the Commonwealth Team, your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assisting the SEC Commonwealth Games Event Manager in all aspects of event planning, delivery, and venue operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
  • Support the planning and coordination of all event phases, from planning to decommission, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate across SEC departments and stakeholders to promote effective planning, delivery, and positive issue resolution.
  • Assist in the development of event documentation, processes, and communication tools, supporting preparations and readiness for the Games.
