ROLE PURPOSE:

Levy UK is the food and drink partner of the SEC, managing and operating all the food and drink within the venue. We are now looking for a Venue Director to assist in shaping and realising the venue food and drinks strategy, ensuring the development of premium experiences that are unique, exciting and first- class.

A high-profile specialist and prestigious opportunity for a dynamic, senior and inspirational professional. Experience in premium food and drink delivery, logistics and a real “people person” with rounded leadership skills and a mantra to jump the curve and innovate food and beverage products to new heights.

Responsible in developing and delivering exceptional food and guest experience is critical to the success and reputation of the food and beverage offering, in addition to the leadership and engagement of shaping a large, well-trained team both fixed and variable.

You will work closely with the senior team and our partners at the SEC to develop and deliver the venues progressive strategy. As such, you will continually evolve the guest experience product, such that is renowned for food and hospitality excellence as befits a world class venue.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

Strategy and Planning

  • Influence the development and delivery of operational strategy and continued evolution of the venue.
  • Contribute to the venue catering strategy by liaising with stakeholders and constantly reviewing and auditing projects to ensure agreed objectives are achieved.
  • Instrumental in leading, driving and managing the changing nature of both guest and partner expectations and the reactivity of the team to deliver this.
  • Work closely with the Levy UKCI leadership team and partner stakeholders to establish and sustain a powerful partnership with the client and their external partners
  • Maximise the contribution of the internal support functions to shape and drive the venue catering strategy based on experience and best practice.
  • Develop strategic and tactical venue business plans to ensure the venue achieves agreed objectives, relating to: People, Guest, Commercial, Compliance, HCS, Sustainability and Technology
  • Ensure quality control and consistency, underpinned by the methodology of the Growth Performance Strategy, ensuring a consistent focus on achieving and exceeding Growth Performance Indicators (GPIs).
  • A focussed approached to project management, leading the planning and implementation of specific food and drink projects agreed with the client, designed at enhancing the guest experience in line with the strategic direction of the venue.
  • Innovation – create an environment that embraces global trends in both food, beverage and technology to reflect the venues world-class status.

  • Direct and work in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure the operational team deliver consistency in terms of both quality and experience.
  • Mentor and coach the General Manager to ensure they are ready for success and progression, with a hunger to step into your role in the future.
  • Ensure effective communication is in the DNA of the team, relating to business strategy, planning and daily activities.
  • Challenge and guide the Levy venue team to create an environment of transparency, honesty and a willingness to do what it takes to create a reputational customer experience.

Business Performance Optimisation

  • Understand E15 Insights data structure and its reliance on accuracy of venue information.
  • Embed processes in the venue to ensure the required data is accurately detailed in all relevant systems to maximise the validity of E15 Data Insights.
  • Utilise data modelling created by E15 Insights, to monitor, challenge and support your team in systematic changes that impact the processes on a day-to-day basis, with accuracy of data a core objective.
  • Utilise this data to actively established ways in which business performance can be optimised, working strategically to do so with the Business Transformation team.
  • Interact with functional support specialists, to develop networks between them and venues to drive performance including People, Culinary, Finance, E15 Insights, BUILT and Sales.

Financials Business Development:

  • Driving revenue growth across all SEC revenue streams, aligned to and supporting the client’s wider growth strategy.
  • Identifying and converting opportunities for commercial growth for both SEC and Levy, ensuring mutual value creation and long-term partnership success.
  • Accountable for venue profitability, working closely with the Finance Manager to deliver accurate and timely forecasts, budgets, and PCLs.
  • Leveraging financial insight and commercial awareness to unlock new opportunities, optimise performance, and enhance client value.
  • Data-driven: applying E15 Insights modelling to monitor, challenge, and drive systematic change, delivering efficiency and sustainable growth.
  • Growth analytics: regular review of Growth Performance Scores to unlock opportunities, implement tactical interventions, and maximise revenue potential.
  • Building commercial capability: embedding a strong understanding of commercial drivers across Line Managers and their teams to support strategic outcomes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Demonstrates passion and hunger for ensuring an exceptional hospitality experience, able to inspire the entire and varied team to work as one and “jump the curve” to deliver legendary food and beverage experiences.
  • Restless in seeking to be the best of the best. Known for leading from the front with the ability to critically review new project layouts and ideas as well as proposing new ideas to develop food, quality, and service.
  • Passionate about people – enjoys communicating with the most important of clients as well as the all-important team members that deliver great service every day.
  • Experience of developing a culture of collaboration and team work to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Proven record of change management, strategic planning and operational delivery utilising a balanced structured approach focusing on agreed improvements with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to operate with a flexible and inclusive approach.
  • Commercially and financially astute – understands how finance and operating models are built and what levers can be utilised to improve performance by using a data driven approach.
  • Flexible and agile, balancing structured approach, resilience, and problem-solving skills with ability to flex and adapt as required. Appreciates need for speed of action and reaction without diluting quality of results.
  • Strong influencer with the ability to negotiate across all stakeholders (internal and external) with a resilience and tenacity to drive a compelling vision for change.
  • Track record of senior management – 10 years + experience gained in a quality driven food, drink, and hospitality environment with significant operational and stakeholder management experience.
