Role: Sales Manager – Exhibition Sales

Reports to: Head of Exhibition Sales

Location: Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow

Role Summary

To drive revenue growth through a combination of existing clients and securing new events from the exhibition and associated sectors. Identify opportunities and proactively engage to effectively manage pipeline. Work with wider SEC Team to help deliver events that provide best possible client experience whilst maximising the commercial return.
 

Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development

  • Develop business opportunities via networking, sales calls, desk research, attending industry events and target shows in situ. This will involve travel throughout the UK.
  • Manage pipeline of exhibition prospects with realisation of existing event profiles.
  • Work with marketing team to design and implement sales campaigns.
  • Assist in creating and executing exhibition business development strategy
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and client needs to identify growth opportunities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, industry associations and event organisers across a mix of trade and consumer clients.
  • Conduct site visits and present venue facilities and services to prospective clients.
  • Provide post-event follow-up and manage client feedback to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Host clients at hospitality opportunities (external, on site, industry or SEC events).

Reporting & Performance

  • Provide regular feedback to the Head of Exhibition Sales and other relevant departments on client needs, potential improvements and market trends.
  • Maintain a client database & pipeline including updating customer records, inputting sales activities, financial information and recording relevant interactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales-related documents, presentations and forecasting.
  • Manage event tenancy system to ensure dateline management and liaise regularly with internal sales team(s).

Event Delivery

  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, catering, marketing etc.) to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Confident approach when learning how to use new systems (e.g. Event Tenancy, CRM).
