Comprising the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and the OVO Hydro, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is Scotland's premier venue for events, gigs, conferences, and exhibitions. We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.
We’re looking for a motivated and friendly Event Manager to work as part of our Event Management Team –Live.
The SEC Event Manager will be responsible for:
- Participating in the collaborating with team operations which will enhance the SEC’s client relationships.
- Achieve a consistent approach for each event, in all relevant aspects of safety and compliance throughout event planning and delivery, including build/breakdown arrangements, policies, procedures, security and traffic management plans.
- The proactive cost management and budget process for events, including identifying efficiencies and margin improvements where possible.
- Participate in the SEC’s incident response plan using the event managers role card, while working on allocated events. Participating in incident response training, testing and exercising.
- The development and implementation of the Event Plan. Lead and direct the operations of the event team to ensure delivery is in line with the event plan and pre-agreed policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Experience team to ensure customer service is at the forefront of all events

- The ideal candidate will hold a degree (or similar qualification) in Event Management, Tourism Management or Business Management.
- Have previous experience in a similar environment.
- Be able to demonstrate strong communication and customer focused skills.
- Be a proactive team player.
- Have excellent time management with proven experience of working to deadlines .
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Have event industry knowledge.
- Be flexible as evening and weekend working will be required.
