Comprising the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and the OVO Hydro, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is Scotland's premier venue for events, gigs, conferences, and exhibitions. We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.
To strengthen colleague listening, engagement and alignment by driving strategic internal communications and building a compelling employer brand. This role plays a key part in shaping organisational culture, enhancing colleague experience, and positioning the company as an employer of choice both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Create clear, engaging, and consistent messaging for internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage internal communication channels (e.g. intranet, newsletters, all-hands meetings, internal social platforms).
- Partner with leadership and key departments to cascade messages and support change management efforts.
- Gather employee feedback and monitor internal sentiment to continuously improve communication practices.
Employer Branding
- Define and execute an employer branding strategy that reflects the company’s values, culture, and employee value proposition (EVP).
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and the People Team to create content that attracts top talent and tells authentic employee stories.
- Manage the company’s presence on employer review and job platforms (e.g. Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Indeed).
- Lead initiatives and campaigns that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as part of the employer brand.
Colleague Engagement & Culture
- Support initiatives that drive employee engagement, recognition, and alignment with company values.
- Plan and coordinate internal events such as town halls, wellness programs, onboarding sessions, and celebrations.
- Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring communications and branding efforts reinforce a positive, inclusive workplace.
Measurement & Insights
- Use analytics tools and surveys to assess communication effectiveness and employer brand impact.
- Provide insights and reports to senior management and recommend improvements.

- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset
- Deep understanding of brand, tone, and audience targeting
- Experience managing multi-channel communication strategies
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, CMS platforms, and social media scheduling tools
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in internal communications, employer branding, or related roles
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proven track record of building or elevating an employer brand
