ASSISTANT SECURITY MANAGER - SCOTTISH EVENT CAMPUS

Comprising the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and the OVO Hydro, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is Scotland's premier venue for events, gigs, conferences, and exhibitions. We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.

As an Assistant Security Manager, you will be responsible for working as part of the Event Safety & Security Team to help deliver the following:

  • Support the Security Manager in building a secure and enjoyable environment for all stakeholders, prioritising their safety and security at all times
  • Liaise with the stewarding and security providers to assist with the contract management of their area of delivery and oversee service level and key performance indicators
  • A focus on contract management and the collation of data to support the management of contractual key performance indicators
  • Data and dashboard management to ensure that all departmental reports, audits and analytics are captured to ensure the smooth running of the function
  • Ensure safe and secure environments across the Campus by ensuring that Stewarding and Security providers are adequately trained and briefed ahead of operational deployments
  • Assist with the roll out of security technologies to improve the security posture at events on campus
  • Undertake event risk assessments and define the required levels of stewarding personnel and equipment to safely deliver across Campus
  • Assist with the formulation of training needs analysis of stewarding and security providers ensuring that the needs of all event aspects are delivered
  • Liaise with Event Management colleagues to draft and approve stewarding and security deployments in the Live, Conference and Exhibition events held on Campus.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders—such as local authorities, contractors, and emergency services—to promote seamless collaboration.

  • Strong relationship building skills with multiple teams and agencies.

  • Knowledge of Security operations, deployments and industry technologies in the event sector.
  • Proven experience of working in a similar role & environment.
  • Level 4 Spectator Safety Management (desirable but not essential).
  • Level 5 Crowd Management (desirable but not essential).
  • Door Supervisor (DS) SIA Licence.
  • Client side, contract management experience in an event setting (essential).
  • Experience working in a busy event industry environment and the drive to deliver in a variety of event types.
