The IRN-BRU Carnival
The IRN-BRU Carnival is Europe’s largest indoor festival and one of Glasgow’s most loved events, with a history spanning more than 107 years. Since 1986, it has called the SEC home - a partnership built on scale, trust and experience.
Welcoming well over 125,000 visitors each year and featuring more than 75 rides and attractions, the Carnival demands a venue that can handle complexity, volume and ambition. The SEC’s flexible halls, central location and operational expertise make it uniquely equipped to deliver an event of this size, while also supporting inclusive initiatives such as quieter sessions for visitors with autism and sensory processing disorders - meaning everyone can enjoy the experience.
With decades of experience hosting large-scale consumer events, the SEC provides a safe, proven and highly capable setting for organisers looking to deliver standout experiences.
Why is the SEC a great venue for the IRN-BRU Carnival
“It has such a welcoming and kind bunch of people working at the SEC who are all in it together to make sure that everyone has the best time they can possibly have.”
(Greg Cherry, Managing Director QD Events)
“It’s also the biggest and most important venue in the city. It’s where all sorts of events happen - everyone knows the SEC; everyone’s used to travelling here. It’s the natural meeting point for all sorts of events, from entertainment to conferences, to exhibitions.”
(Ali Atkinson, Head of Marketing QD Events)
