Glasgow’s Tutankhamun immersive exhibition closes after welcoming over 126,000 visitors

Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition has drawn to a triumphant close at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), following a hugely successful run that saw 126,480 people step back in time to explore the mysteries of the famed boy-king of Ancient Egypt.

Among the visitors, 1123 pupils took part in educational visits during the exhibition’s three month run, discovering history through cutting-edge technology, storytelling, and hands-on learning experiences. Visitor feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the event garnering an overall satisfaction score of 91%.

Visitors travelled from across Scotland and an impressive 76 countries worldwide, reinforcing the SEC’s reputation as one of Glasgow’s leading cultural and tourism attractions.

The exhibition – which combined 360-degree projection, holograms, and virtual reality – has now welcomed over two million visitors worldwide. In Glasgow, it captivated audiences of all ages and highlighted the city’s growing strength as a destination for, immersive culture and events.

Reflecting on the exhibition’s impact, Angela Smith, Head of New Business at the SEC, said: “Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition has been a fantastic success story for the SEC and for Glasgow. It’s been wonderful to see families, school groups, and visitors from across Scotland and beyond experience this extraordinary blend of history, innovation, and storytelling.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive – a real testament to the creativity of the teams at FKP Scorpio and Madrid Artes Digitales, and to the growing appetite for world-class immersive cultural experiences. Glasgow has proven to be the perfect setting for this kind of exhibition, combining a rich cultural scene with an engaged and curious audience. We’re confident that this is just the beginning for a new wave of immersive experiences that will shape the future of exhibitions and live events.”

James Cassidy, President at FKP Scorpio Entertainment, added: “Bringing Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition to Glasgow has been a fantastic experience. From the outset, the SEC team and the city itself embraced our vision, helping us create something truly special for audiences across Scotland and beyond.

“The enthusiasm and engagement from visitors has been remarkable, and we’re thrilled that so many people were able to share in this unique journey through Ancient Egypt. Glasgow has proven once again that it’s a city that welcomes culture, creativity, and curiosity with open arms.”

The exhibition’s closing marks another milestone in a landmark year for the SEC, as the venue celebrates 40 Years Bold – four decades of hosting world-class events and welcoming millions of visitors to experience Glasgow’s famously warm welcome.
