Frequently Asked Questions
Important Rail Travel Information
RMT Network Rail strike action – December 2022 and January 2023
13-14, 16-17 December, 24-27 December as well as on 3-4 and 6-7 January.
Due to strike action, Scotrail services to and from Exhibition Centre Station will be significantly affected on the above dates, please plan and prepare in advance of your journey. Consider alternative means of transport to and from events during this period. Further rail information is available via https://www.scotrail.co.uk/plan-your-journey/passenger-disruption/industrial-action
Autism Friendly Sessions
Autism Friendly sessions will take place from 12pm-3pm on Friday 23rd December, and from 4.00pm-9.00pm on Tuesday 10th January, offering visitors with autism and sensory processing disorders the chance to enjoy the rides with less queues and crowds, and to get used to their environment.
During the Autism Friendly sessions, the main hall lights will be on, music will be turned off or very low and the rides will be slower where possible (although the ride lights will still be on). At the end of each session, visitors to the Autism Friendly sessions are welcome to stay at the Carnival until it closes, but the music and lights will gradually return to their usual levels.
During the autism sessions there will also be quiet areas available, and sensory packs for guests.
Autism Friendly sessions are open to anyone who believes the environment will benefit them, and friends and family are welcome to join these sessions too.
We hope that these measures help as many people as possible to enjoy the IRN-BRU Carnival.
