Here at the Scottish Event Campus we are eliminating single use plastic at live events with the introduction of Stack Cups; reusable cups that can be stacked, allowing you to carry multiple cups in each hand, meaning far less chance of spillage!

The introduction of Stack Cup will replace and remove single use plastic cups with a reusable and sustainable alternative. All you, the customer has to do is return your cup to a redemption point at the end of the show to receive a £1 refund or place in bins provided to help SEC support environmental and charitable initiatives. Cups are washed off site for use at the next event, with the potential for each cup during its lifespan, to be washed up to 300 times.

Stack Cups will be introduced for the first time at Planet Earth II, taking place on Sunday 27 March, at the OVO Hydro. They will be in use for seating areas with a compostable version used throughout the rest of the venue. The cups will then be used for the first time in the SEC Armadillo on Thursday 31st March, at Ru Paul’s Drag Race. Standing area trials will take place over the coming months with a view to extending Stack Cups to the standing area in the near future.

The Stack Cup initiative will result in the Scottish Event Campus saving 2 MILLION plastic cups per year and reducing our carbon footprint by 1,500 TONNES in the next 10 years. A key part of our journey towards net zero by 2030.

We can’t wait to welcome YOU, the best fans in the world to our venue and take you on our sustainability journey with us.
