The European Society of Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN) joined us at the Scottish Event Campus from 7-9 September. ESPN was founded in 1967 and around 2,000 doctors across Europe are involved, to different extents,  in the care of children with renal disease, working in interactive communication through personal contacts and groups with peculiar activities. This communication is highly facilitated by the annual ESPN Congress, and the network has been greatly expanded.

This was the 50th Birthday of ESPN and the congress explored the theme of “What have we learned in the past 50 years and where will we go in the next 50 years?”. The first ever ESPN congress was held in Glasgow, and it was fitting that 50 years later it was back in the city.

The event welcomed approximately 700 paediatricians and nurses specialising in nephrology. Seminars and workshops were held throughout the Loch Suite and the exhibition took place across Halls 1 & 2.
