Debbie McWilliams appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the Scottish Event Campus
The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Debbie McWilliams as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and her formal appointment to the SEC Board.
Debbie steps into the newly expanded role, within new Chief Executive’s Dominic McKay’s Executive Team at the SEC. This following a successful tenure as Interim Managing Director of Strategy and People. In her new capacity, she will continue to lead Live Entertainment, Commercial, Hospitality, Ticketing, with her remit now extending to include both Experience and Marketing functions.
Having first joined the SEC in 1989, Debbie has played an instrumental role in the evolution of the campus – from its roots as the SECC through to its transformation into the world-class venue it is today, home to the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo, and OVO Hydro. Over the years, she has been central to the growth of the campus’s live entertainment and commercial operations and is widely respected across the events and entertainment industry.
Debbie’s leadership has been pivotal in the success of the OVO Hydro, cementing its position as one of the world’s top live entertainment venues. More recently, as Interim Managing Director, she has helped steer the organisation through a strong year of strategic delivery and cultural development.
Dominic McKay, Chief Executive Officer of the SEC said: “Debbie’s appointment reflects both her outstanding contribution to the SEC and the live entertainment industry. She has a deep understanding of the business, is hugely respected by the SEC team and is a proven leader which makes her perfectly suited to drive our new and refreshed commercial strategy forward. I’m delighted to welcome her to the board and look forward to working closely with her on the next stage of the SEC’s exciting journey.”
Commenting on her appointment, McWilliams said: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer and to join the SEC Board. It’s been a privilege to be part of the SEC’s journey so far, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. I’m excited to continue working closely with Dominic and our talented team as we build on our success and explore new opportunities across the business.”
Debbie’s appointment reflects the SEC’s commitment to strong, strategic leadership and continued growth across its commercial and entertainment portfolio. Debbie’s appointment follows the earlier announcement of Fiona Campbell Downes joining the SEC as Director of People.
