CIRED - The International Conference on Electricity Distribution

CIRED, the International Conference on Electricity Distribution, returned to the UK for the first time in 20 years in June this year at the Scottish Event Campus. The event welcomed approximately 1,000 delegates and 250 exhibitors.

CIRED is dedicated to the design, construction and operation of public distribution systems and of large installations using electrical energy in industry, services and transport. It covers the whole field of electricity distribution systems and associated services, technical aspects of electricity supply and associated aspects such as cost reduction, environment, organisation and skills.

The event used Halls 4 & 5 for registration, poster sessions and the main exhibition floor and the entire Loch Suite was utilised for speaker previews and breakout meetings. An opening ceremony, featuring a pipe band, was held in the Clyde Auditorium.
