Travel Counsellors announce Glasgow as 2018 host city

Travel Counsellors, the provider of bespoke corporate and leisure travel has announced that it will host its UK annual conference in 2018 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow.

The event, which welcomes up to 1,700 Travel Counsellors from across the world, is an annual celebration of talent and values across the company.

This follows a year of considerable growth for Travel Counsellors, with the company witnessing record sales figures, both in the UK and internationally. As a result, between March 2016 and March 2017, the firm saw total transactions surpass the £500m mark for the first time since inception.

Earlier this year, the global company, which now operates in seven countries, secured a place in the 2017 Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, the sixth time that Travel Counsellors has been included on the list.

Steve Byrne, CEO of Travel Counsellors, said: “As we continue to grow our international business we need a venue that can both accommodate our size and attention to detail to host what is the biggest event on the company calendar. The physical infrastructure is absolutely brilliant and you can tell that the people here really care about our event and our attendees.

“The city’s award-winning brand – People Make Glasgow – is reflective of our own brand which puts our people and customers at the centre of our business. The news has been really well received by our Travel Counsellors, who all run their own travel businesses as part of the company, and we know that our delegates will get a warm welcome from the people of Glasgow. On top of this, there are so many other things they can wrap around the conference to really experience all that the city has to offer.”

Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SEC, said: “We’re really excited about welcoming Travel Counsellors to Glasgow next year and seeing how they bring their brand alive here at the SEC.

“It’s fantastic to have global brand, Travel Counsellors, choose the SEC and Glasgow as their host venue and city for this prestigious conference.”

Aileen Crawford, Head of Glasgow Convention Bureau, added: “What an accolade for Team Glasgow to be welcoming Travel Counsellors to our city next year. We will be sure to give them a warm welcome.”

Travel Counsellors will host their annual meeting on the 9-11 November 2018.
