SECC Continues to Grow Exhibition Team
The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) has announced the appointment of Angela Smith as Business Development Manager within the venue’s exhibition sales team.
Smith will join the team headed up by Dan Thurlow, Director of Exhibition Sales at the SECC who commented, “Our exhibition business is growing every year and we need to increase the size and capability of our team(s) to reflect the importance of this sector to the SECC. I’m delighted to have someone with Angela’s experience join us, she’s launched, run and grown events so can immediately relate to what organisers need in order to be successful”.
Angela has a strong exhibition background having spent 9 years at QD Events – Scotland’s largest exhibition company. During that time she ran the country’s largest Wedding shows and more recently headed up business development.
She joins a growing exhibition team at the SECC that recently added Heather Church into its event marketing department. The marketing team works in tandem with the venue’s business intelligence and sales teams to identify and develop opportunities that help exhibitors flourish in Scotland.
“From the Ideal Home Show to the All Energy, the SECC hosts some of the most dynamic and exciting exhibitions around,” comments Smith. “It’s a really exciting time to be joining the business and I’m keen to maintain the momentum the venue has generated over the last 24 months.”
“We’re set for our biggest year to date,” concludes Thurlow. “This is a venue with a great heritage in exhibitions and an increasing number of organizers are recognizing the opportunities Scotland presents. We’re delighted to be working with them all to create and develop successful shows.”
