Excellent Year for Exhibitions
The SECC (Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre) is celebrating an excellent year of exhibitions in 2014 with notable repeat events such as Comic Con, BBC Good Food Show and The Ideal Home Show enjoying record-breaking tenancies at the venue.
One of the venue’s fast growing flagship events is Comic Con and the exhibition bought in over 26,000 visitors in just two years, meanwhile Country Living had a record attendance of 19,494 in 2014. Girls Day Out, a growing and popular show amongst the Scottish community, also had a record breaking Saturday – the best in its 10 year history.
“We’ve been running the Girls Day Out show at the SECC for 5 years and year on year it continues to grow,” comments Tom Lovering, Commercial Director at PSP Publishing. “2014 saw a 14% increase in exhibitor sales and visitor numbers increased from 17,400 a year to 18,700 in 2014. The location allows us to reach engaged and enthusiastic consumers across Glasgow and along with the size and easy access of the hall, the SECC is fantastic venue which always ensures tremendous success for our event.”
“As a venue we pride ourselves on our strong links with the professionals and people of Glasgow and Scotland, and this allows us to support exhibitions in reaching engaged audiences across the nation, and those who have a huge appetite for live events,” comments Dan Thurlow, Director of Exhibition Sales at the SECC.
“We’ve had a fantastic year and have enjoyed some of the country’s leading shows including Homebuilding and Renovating and the Scottish Wedding Show. Glasgow is an enormously popular event city and 2015 will be even bigger with a mix of public and trade events including All Energy moving to its new home in the SECC.”
