While headlining C2C: Country to Country Festival at London’s famed O2 Arena on Saturday, broadcasted live by BBC 2 Radio, Kacey Musgraves exclusively announced to a sold-out crowd of over 14,000 fans that she’ll soon return on a headlining world tour of her own. The Oh, What A World: Tour will kick off in countries across Europe this fall, including The Netherlands, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Kacey will embark on the Oh, What A World: Tour in support of her highly-anticipated fourth studio album Golden Hour, available March 30th. Ahead of release, Kacey has introduced Golden Hour with singles “Butterflies” and “Space Cowboy,” which have been met with critical acclaim from everyone including TIME, Rolling Stone, CMT, The FADER, Consequence of Sound, Vulture, and Paste, with NPR declaring “she’s relaxed into the sound she'd already designed, going deeper beneath its sparkly, vintage-tinted surface and further cultivating her innate commitment to clarity and craft” and Noisey proclaiming “it's clear that the Texan is still the most talented songwriter in mainstream pop-country.” “Space Cowboy” was highlighted on Spotify’s New Music Friday and was hailed as one of 2018’s best songs so far by Stereogum.
Soccer Mommy is the project of twenty-year-old Sophie Allison, a ferociously talented Nashville native. She cut her teeth in her local DIY scene, going to shows and hanging out with other musicians, though she kept her own songwriting secret. “I’ve played music since I was six,” says Allison, “and I always wrote songs just for myself. I did it for fun, posting songs on Tumblr, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud. I didn’t think anyone would notice.” Her debut album Clean (released March 2018) presents Sophie Allison as a singular artist, wise beyond her years, with an emotional authenticity all her own, as has been widely reflected by praise from fans and media alike. BBC 6Music, Radio 1, Dazed, Noisey, FADER, NME, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, The New York Time, Pitchfork have all shown widespread support in 2018.
